The iBathrooms team recently transformed a master bathroom in Kanata into a beautiful modern farmhouse bathroom. In this article, we’re going to discuss the project, highlighting the various concerns the customer had and how our team addressed them. Uncovering the Past
Before we could begin redesigning the bathroom into a modern farmhouse ensuite the client wanted, there were some issues to address.
The drywall needed some touch-up work, the end drawers were not functioning properly, and the plumbing needed to be moved to accommodate the new design.
On top of that, there were some obstructions there that needed to be addressed before we could install new pipes.
iBathrooms Designing the Future Modern Farmhouse Bathroom
One of the hallmarks of a modern farmhouse bathroom decor is incorporating natural wood along with some modern elements. There’s a lot of warmth and charm that wood adds to creating a natural and authentic look. This paired with modern elements like a glass walk-in shower are distinct features in this style of bathroom.
To achieve the look, we decided to keep elements of the furniture that were working for the space and re-purpose them. The existing vanity didn’t fit into the decor plan that the client had for this bathroom, so we swapped out the old vanity for a custom vanity. We rebuilt the vanity drawers more than three times to achieve the perfect look for the client. This goes to show just how dedicated we are to each project. To us, a project is never complete until the client is completely satisfied. In addition to the custom vanity, we built custom shelves beside the vanity to match it.
Creating the Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Look
Since a modern farmhouse is a blend of modern and farmhouse styles, we needed a nice balance of the two to achieve the look the client wanted. We kept ornamental décor to a minimum, and used wood as an accent throughout the bathroom. We removed the drop-in tub and replaced it with a modern spa tub. The double mirrors above the vanity were replaced with one large mirror. We also updated the vanity lighting to a fluorescent fixture and replaced the countertop.
Most of the work was completed in three weeks. There was a follow-up item that our team addressed – a scratch that the customer noticed where the handheld showerhead connects to the wall. Fixing this item took a week because we had to wait for the parts to arrive. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for us to complete a project, what matters is that our customers are happy.
