Small Bathroom Reno in Ottawa With Tub-to-Shower Conversion

This overview of the bathroom transformation highlights the importance of a simple and clean approach to a small bathroom redesign.

As you can see in the before and after photos below, we have started with a very typical 20-year-old bathroom of an Ottawa home.

This is what we call a 3-piece bathroom with a tub and shower combo. See the before photos below.

The goal for this project was to update the bathroom with modern features and finishes, such as large tiles, and functional shower fixtures, and above all, to convert a conventional alcove bathtub into an easy-access custom tiled shower.

The challenge was to open the bathroom up and make it feel bigger while retaining the physical footprint of the bathroom, with no moving of the walls or major fixture relocations.

The solution that we came up with was tri-fold.

  1. The use of large-scale tiles of the same color gamut throughout the entire bathroom.
  2. Install a vanity of the same size but with a more narrow profile.
  3. Bring more functional lights and accent lights

The transformation is truly spectacular and our customers are in LOVE with their new bathroom. We at iBathrooms are proud to know that this bathroom was not only crafted meticulously from the esthetic prospecting but was built to last from the plumbing, electrical, water-proofing, and all other perspectives that go into the building of a quality bathroom. In the world of disposable consumer goods and diminishing quality of service, it is a good feeling to create a product and service that you would want for yourself!

With that, we want to give credit to everyone who took part in this project, not in any specific order.

Our thanks go to:

Art, Deryll, and Danny of Summit drain and plumbing summitdrain.ca

Slavic, and Alex of Slava Electric.

Davon, Jordan, and Robert of BathDepot Merrivile location www.bathdepot.ca

Richard of Boone/Monduea mondeau.ca

Andrew, Arpit, and Ellie of Euro Tile and Stone eurotilestone

Bogdan, and Oleg of iBathrooms.

And the biggest and most sincere thanks go to the homeowners for their hospitality and accommodation during the time of the renovation.

Sincerely

iBathrooms Team
