We’re excited to share one of our latest projects — a 3-piece bathroom renovation in Ottawa that took a space from clean but dated to warm, grounded, and clearly elevated. This bathroom wasn’t broken, but it had grown tired. The original layout was tight, and while everything matched — white tile, chrome finishes, a standard vanity and sliding shower doors — it felt like it was holding its breath. The space needed more than a touch-up. It needed a rethink. Now, that same bathroom feels brighter, more open, and visually calm. Nothing was expanded, but the space feels larger — thanks to smart material choices, thoughtful layout updates, and the quiet glow of gold accents where they matter.
A Modern Look with Large-Format Tiles
The foundation of this new look is the 24×48″ Calacatta porcelain tile, supplied by Euro Tile & Stone. With heavy veining and a soft white base, Calacatta is never quiet — but in this space, it creates the right kind of movement. The scale keeps grout lines minimal, helping the room feel open and cohesive.
Paired with gold fixtures, the look finds its balance. The boldness of the tile brings depth and visual tension, while the soft gold adds warmth. Together, they soften the room and bring in a low, quiet glow. It’s a pairing that doesn’t just modernize — it elevates. Big thanks to Niluka, Anna, Ellie, and the entire team at Euro Tile & Stone. Their support and product knowledge help us build rooms that feel considered from the ground up.
Fixtures with Purpose and Personality
All fixtures were sourced from Bath Depot — from the floating vanity and acrylic shower base to the lighting and accessories. Everything in this room was chosen to do two things: save space, and soften it.
The real standout is the custom framed glass shower enclosure with gold trim. Where the old shower closed the space off, this one invites light to move through. The framing adds structure without adding weight, and ties in perfectly with the gold hardware across the vanity and towel bars.
Thanks to Devon, Jourdan, William, and Sara at Bath Depot’s Merrivale location. Their care in the process, and their deep product range, made this part of the project run smooth.
Why Bathroom Renovations Matter
Bathrooms shape our routines. When they’re cluttered or closed off, it affects how we move through our day. This update wasn’t just about aesthetics — it was about giving the space rhythm again.
More room to move. Surfaces that clean easily. Materials that bring calm, not noise. This renovation didn’t change the footprint — it changed the feel. That’s what good design should do.
The Team That Made It Happen
Ryan from Maya Plumbing made sure everything behind the tile was solid. He brings calm to the worksite and precision to every step.
Misha from iBathrooms brought care and consistency to the install. From the tile layout to the shower framing, the results speak clearly. No shortcuts. Just solid, steady hands.
And to our client — thank you for your trust, your patience, and the space to do what we do best.
